VBA

Hello,

It is possible to pilot Scia Engineer from outside and to customize it by many means:
- XML file
- COM object for use in many languages included C++, Java, VBA in Excel etc
- integrated Excel link for custom checks.

Stay tuned for more information about this in the coming weeks...
I'll post some examples on this forum for the community.

What kind of application / use did you have in mind ?

What kind of COM reference file exists for SCIA? I have found only "EsaAutomation" which did not look as useful for me.

I would like to write something simple script for import nodes from excel sheet or txt file, place beams, desk etc.

It would be very nice from you to post some basic examples for VBA or VB.NET.

Thanks,

Gabor

I am also very interested in obtaining more info on the COM interface (class structure, ect.). I would like to create some additional input tools for the UI. I would be working in C#. Is there some documentation available?

Hi,

please have a look in some older posts of mine about XML examples.
These should help in your task of using Excel VBA to generate Scia Engineer models.

For more information about direct use of COM, you can always contact directly our support team.

Hello,
